The above photos, provided by the Construction Manager, JCI Contractors, depict a concrete pour which occurred in July.  Since then, the Project has progressed significantly and is currently 46% complete.

This new structure, with a barrel roof and materials similar to those used on existing facilities, is designed to compliment the existing architecture, while transforming the site into a modern campus with a variety of educational spaces to better facilitate successful learning environments. The academic spaces will feature flexible learning areas for student collaboration and a state of the art library with maker space. The new Performing Arts Center includes a new 950+-seat state of the art auditorium and black box theater.

The “Front of Campus” view, which will be seen upon approach from the main entry drive, firmly establishes a “Front Door” to the campus which will serve as a main entry point into the school. This project will tie the campus together in such a way that this new “Front Door” will allow for a critically needed increase in campus security.

In addition, the prominent view of the new facility from the interstate will provide a recognizable face
of the Lowndes High School Vikings for those who travel past the campus on Interstate 75.

Once the new building is completed, several existing facilities will be demolished or renovated.

Currently, the Project is on track to be completed this time next year.
