GSWSU Collum Hall Rehabilitation

This project was awarded the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation’s Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation and included extensive interior renovation, replacement of the roof, HVAC and lighting systems, reglazing of all windows, and the addition of an elevator tower.

The renovation was a complete adaptive reuse and retrofit of the interior space to convert the 1952 era 13,345 sf three-story dormitory to modern classrooms and faculty offices, to include three 50-seat classrooms and a computer lab on the third floor. The learning spaces incorporate the latest technological systems.

We worked diligently to deal with hazardous materials issues while preserving the historic fabric of the building. Due to the Owner’s schedule, this project required a highly accelerated effort by the design team as well as a continued commitment by both the design team and construction professional to complete the project on time.
